Zoë Aletta got to know Rotterdam a year ago and she would like to share her experience with fellow travelers by giving them a few extra tips!
1. Prepare for the Weather
Similar to England, Rotterdam’s weather can be wet, so pack a lightweight raincoat just in case.
2. Explore the City
Rotterdam is beautiful and there’s a lot to see. Consider staying an extra day to explore, as the festival will keep you busy.
3. Witte de Withstraat
This is the spot for busy pubs and bars, but it gets crowded. If you want to go, booking ahead is a good idea.
4. Vegan & Veggie Friendly
Rotterdam has plenty of quick vegan and vegetarian options. With so much music happening, you might not have time for a sit-down meal, but the city has great food on the go. Try Burgertrut!
A great spot for a quick bite during the festival.
5. Rotown – Festival Hub
Rotown is the heart of the festival, with great beers, food, and party vibes. You might even spot some bands hanging out here!
6. Check Out the Merch Store
Take some time to visit the merch store — last year, there were custom t-shirts and you might even spot bands there buying each others merch!
7. Skip the Cycling
Although Holland is perfect for cycling, everything at the festival is within a 20-minute walk. With beers flowing all day, walking is the safest option. And remember, the Dutch cycle on the opposite side of the road!
8. Bring Earplugs
If you want to get close to the stage, earplugs are a good idea to protect your hearing.
9. Look for Posters
Keep an eye out for festival posters — they often have great designs.
10. Friendly Atmosphere
The festival is known for its welcoming and friendly crowd. Enjoy the music, have a dance, and follow gig etiquette!
11. Beers are Stronger
Dutch beers may be smaller, but they’re stronger — plus, they are tasty !
Enjoy Left of the Dial! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
